One of worst photgaphers has to go to Patrick Rochon. He is horrible and it bugs me so much and is the reason I enjoy painting with light so much. When I was shown to him in my freshman year for an assignment I have stayed following him and watching all the new work and old work and just take ideas off him. For example when I saw his series "The Light Painting KATA" which is just him using led lights to make waves in a sense and just make great pieces with random waves. I don’t know why but just seeing how he spoke with random lines it just amazing and impressive. It has been the reason for the past two years almost three that I have tried to make just as amazing work as his pieces.

I also like him as a person and his philosophy on why painting with light is his career. His beliefs are that painting with light is a way to express your true self and that "It's about the trace we create and leave behind.” He believes that this form of photography enhances your imagination, wake intuition and reflect and who you are, he basically believes it’s a mirror imagine of your soul. The passion he has for the form of photography almost in a sense makes me jealous because I want to be able to be that passionate for something. To where when I speak of the topic I sound as if I am in love with it and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I seem to just admire how he thinks of it so highly and I just want the same passion he has.

Now I also appreciate all of his quotes on his website because most of them are either inspirational or just fascinating to read and some make him seem wiser than others are. Like this one "Light is invisible until it touches matter" it’s almost as if he is wise and trying to inspire me and it works which is impressive because I’ve never been one to get inspired off a few words. Another of his quote goes "Light will reveal your thousand faces" which I yet again agree with because lighting is everything in photography. And when light is the whole photo it has an even bigger effect because it’ll display a certain feeling just with the strokes of the light.

So overall my favorite photography would have to go to Patrick Rochon for being an amazing light photographer that I look up to. He is also my favorite because respect his philosophy and concepts on why to continue taking photos and why he does it as a career instead of as a hobby. In two words he is basically my role model that I look up and strive to be like.
